Duruduru

Though this restaurant, located in the Yeon-dong area of Jeju City, has a name that hints at duruchigi, or spicy stir-fried pork, it actually serves stewed fish. The main ingredient, the filefish or triggerfish, is more commonly known to Koreans as jwipo, a kind of fish jerky snack. In a stew, though, this fish takes on a remarkably different flavor and texture.

The stewed filefish at Duruduru comes with potatoes, green onions, onions, and soy beans, cooked together with rice to harmonize the flavors. As for other dishes on the menu, you can try stewed rockfish, raw cuttlefish, grilled eel, stingray with pickled vegetables, and more.
