Seogwipo’s most iconic permanent traditional market, enjoying a constant stream of visitors year-round
Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market is a traditional market located in the heart of Seogwipo City, a must-visit attraction for anyone traveling to Jeju. As the largest and oldest permanent market in Seogwipo, it enjoys a year-round steady stream of visitors, both local and non-local, and plays a significant role in boosting the local economy.

The scenic path circling Jeju Island passes in front of Seogwipo City Hall, with the market appearing across the street on the left slightly down the road, close to Lee Jung-seop Street and the entrance to Cheonjiyeon Falls along the main road.

In the past, the market sold primarily produce, seafood, manufactured goods, and clothing, similar to other traditional markets, but recently the focus has shifted to local specialties such as tangerines, Hallabong, fish, and black pork, catering to the high proportion of tourists who visit. Specialized seafood stores at the market offer Jeju silver hairtail, fresh mackerel, and red tilefish, generally eaten fresh as sashimi.
This traditional market now offers a wide variety of things to see, do, and eat, making it easy to lose track of time while exploring. Nearby attractions include Lee Jung-seop Street, Seogwipo Port, and Jeongbang Falls, so consider visiting them at the same time.
