Sagye Beach is a small and peaceful beach located just below Sanbangsan Mountain. Located along Olle Trail Route 10, the beach offers a panoramic view of Sanbangsan, Hallasan, and Yongmeori Coast. The name “Sagye” refers to the beach’s beautiful clear sands and blue waters.

Sagye Beach boasts a tranquil atmosphere, and is surrounded by several well-known attractions, including Sanbanggulsa Temple, Yongmeori Coast, and the Hyeongje Islets. The twin islets are included in Yeongju’s ten scenic views of the island and considered natural treasures, located 1.5 km off the coast of Sagye-ri and said to resemble two affectionate brothers standing side by side.

Sagye Beach is also considered one of the best fishing spots in Jeju for black sea bream, with many renting boats at Sagye Port to fish near the Hyeongje Islets. Though the surrounding village is quiet, it has several cozy cafés scattered throughout that are perfect for a brief rest. Professional photographers often visit to capture the serene landscape and numerous nearby scenic attractions. It’s also a great choice to visit at sunrise: we guarantee that the sight of the glowing sun rising above the shimmering horizon with the islets casting shadows in the foreground will make you fall in love with Jeju all over again.

The most unique feature of Sagye Beach is its stunning sedimentary layers formed by the waves through the natural erosion process. These smooth, striated rock formations are often used as the backdrop for photos. The view of the formations changes with the tide, so check times before visiting.
