Located inside The Ma Park, the Raon Zoo is an indoor experience zoo where you can see a wide range of animals from mammals and reptiles to birds and fish from all around the world. There are about 50 kinds of animals indoors, so visitors can watch them, even if it rains or the weather is bad. Since there is a professional zookeeper at the site to explain the characteristics and ecology of each animal, visitors can have fun and be educated at the same time.
When entering the zoo, the first animals to catch visitors’ eyes are mammals. Many are familiar to us, including the Arctic fox covered in white fur and the famous skunk, coati, meerkat—the model of Timon in <The Lion King>—as well as the raccoon which is a main character of <The Guardians of the Galaxy>. You can also see a desert fox from Saint Exupery’s masterpiece, <Le Petit Prince>. It is so much cuter than what you might have imagined while reading the book.
Raon Zoo is a zoo where you can see, touch, and experience animals. You can touch and feed some animals, following the zookeeper's guidance. Experience as much as possible in this rare change to interact and connect with animals. Even Hedgehogs, which look scary because their fur is pointed like thorns, feel rather friendly when you stroke their back gently. You can also touch the Leopard Tortoise and feel how hard its shell is. You’ll be surprised how smooth and soft snake skin actually is.
The highlight of Raon Zoo is experiencing the birds. You won’t easily forget your conversations with parrots or the sensation of being surrounded by colorful, exotic birds. The ecstatic moment of standing among countless birds in flight is a Raon Zoo-exclusive experience.

The Smiler Cafe is a place that busts the myths and prejudices about reptiles. It is a home-like space with various reptiles including lizards, chameleons, land tortoises, crocodiles, and snakes, as well as fish and parrots. Outdoors, they also have animals that are more familiar to us, such as goats.
The Eastern Bearded Dragon, which is a species popular all over the world, also have their own space. This kind of lizard is popular as a pet since it is rather mild. It is famous for interacting with humans by nodding or turning its front legs. The Sandfish skink that dives into the sand and moves as if it was swimming also seems cuter the more you look at it. The Panther Chameleon easily catches everyone’s eye with its vivid colors. Visitors who have seen its color change from green to scarlet and red are always surprised the first time they see it. Here, everyone is swept up by their sense of wonder and curiosity.
Every half hour, the Smiler Cafe hosts experience sessions where visitors can interact with animals. You can let parrots sit on your fingers, feed them, or take a picture with them sitting on your shoulder. Above all, the experience of interacting with lizards leaves impressions that are hard to forget. The notion that all reptiles are cold and damp is dispelled once you gently pet an Eastern Bearded Dragon. Actually, they feel soothingly cool, even without a drop of water on them, and the vivid touch and feel of lizard skin is rather pleasant. The Gecko, a smaller lizard species, busily moves and makes people laugh, roving around the palm of your arm and reaching your shoulder in no time with its tiny feet. Children may be frightened at first, but they soon befriend these lizards and pet them without worry. The Smiler Cafe is a favorite family tourist spot known for its cafe and integrated experiential space.

With its open view, the Ranch Cafe Delekoomda has many things to offer, including animal feeding, horseback riding, cart riding, and exotic bicycle experiences. Located on the boulevard of Beonyeong-ro, it is easy to find and has conveniently incorporated a relaxing cafe and experiential hall within a single space. A vast, green field unfolds beyond the cafe's viewing window, and there are sheep and goats in a small meadow with a fence. The sight of goats craning out and waiting for food makes people smile. You can even get a goat to run up to you if you hold out a carrot for it. The visitors are kept busy with the animals asking for food here and there, but their faces are filled with laughter. The puppy that wanders the ranch is also adored by visitors.
You can also experience horseback riding in the vast field. Riding around the ranch, accompanied by a zookeeper, makes horseback riding easy, even for beginners. Those who looked uncomfortable on horseback at first will return with big smiles. Feeling the movement of the horse on the saddle, as well as the euphoria when it picks up speed, makes everyone want more.
The exotic bicycles are also a fun experience. Choose a bike with a unique look, such as a dolphin, duck, or puppy theme, and pedal around the ranch as you like. The cool wind tickles your nose. If you’re up for more speed, visit the cart shop next door. There are many photo zones all over the ranch, which makes it a perfect place for taking pictures. You can play the piano standing in the middle of the green grass or sit in a nice carriage and take a picture as if you’re on a photo shoot. Inside the café, there is a photo zone with a life-size horse, so pose like a cowboy and take a picture you’ll remember for life.

Jeju Yangtte Ranch is a special ranch that has no fences. A flock of sheep pass peacefully through the crowd, and on the grass, young children run alongside hopping rabbits. Here and there, a goat pops out into view while you’re feeding small animals. You can feel the warmth when stroking the sheep or goats approaching you. The Jeju Sheep Ranch offers a unique sight where people and animals mingle together as all the spaces within the ranch are open, except for a few stalls for horses and deer.
On paying admission, Jeju Yangtte Ranch gives you a tin can containing food for the animals. When you walk around with the tin can, the sheep are the first to show up, leaving you wondering how they knew you’d be coming. Mesmerized by their fluffy fur, you might just hand out all your food right away unless you pace yourself. Sheep have such good appetites that if you put food on your palm, they’ll make it all disappear in a flinch of their lips. Children might be scared at first, but after feeding the animals once or twice, they become excited and try to find animals all over the ranch. Adults enjoy this experience as much as kids do. They find themselves busy feeding the animals, standing next to the kids as if they’ve become children again, too. The food varies from animal to animal: sheep and goats eat feed, while horses, deer, and rabbits eat carrots. Carrots are sold separately at the ticket office. After the feeding experience, take a break inside the cafe within the ranch. You can also take pictures with your partner or family at the photo zone inside the cafe.

Horses are specially treated among the many animals. Other than dogs and cats, there are not many kinds of animals that can connect and interact with humans. Perhaps that is why there are so many novels and movies about horses. If you were deeply moved by the movie <Lump of Sugar>, which portrays the friendship between a girl and a horse, and <Champ>, a movie about a blind rider and a crippled racehorse, then you’ll enjoy the experience at Let’s Run Farm. Here, you can see the racehorses you’ve seen on the screen up close. Many visitors are moved, just by seeing the horses standing on the green grass.
Jeju Let's Run Farm is a ranch that fosters and manages Korean racehorses. The area spans over 2 million square meters, and it’s equipped with a massage parlor, a crossbreeding center, an animal hospital, and a track for training horses. Because of its wide area, it is recommended to set aside enough time if you wish to see every corner of the ranch. If you walk along the fence-lined ranch road, you can see the gallant-looking horses grazing or leisurely walking on the grass. Sometimes, they lightly run to show off their racing spirit. Family travelers with children can comfortably look around the ranch in a tractor wagon. Brief explanations are given at every major facility in the ranch. Also, one can find cute little ponies at one of the corners of the ranch. The scenery including clear skies, towering oreum, green grasslands, and horses impresses visitors. It all looks like some kind of masterpiece.
Ranch visits are free, but there are a few things to keep in mind. Feeding horses without permission is not allowed. Also, visitors must refrain from making loud noises. Horses have hearing that is several times more sensitive than humans, so they might be startled by loud noises and make sudden moves. Prepare a hat or a parasol as there are only a few spots with shade inside the ranch.
