The Seogwipo Chilsimni Festival will be held from October 18 to 20 at the World Cup Stadium Plaza.  This year marks the 30th anniversary of the festival, and under the slogan “Seogwipo’s Value, with Chilsimni,” the event will reflect on the past 30 years, celebrating harmony with nature, culture, and history. 

The festival’s signature event, Chilsimni Parade, will be held as the “Gilteugi Parade” this year.  On October 18, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., the parade will proceed from the Rear Gate Parking Lot of Jeju World Cup Stadium to E-mart and the World Cup Stadium Plaza, officially opening the festival.  Another festival highlight, the Village Culture and Arts Festival, will feature participation from 13 townships and neighborhoods across Seogwipo.  Each group will present performances that creatively reinterpret the traditional village culture of Seogwipo, offering a variety of engaging stages. 

The opening ceremony will feature a nighttime media art show that “connects the past, the present, and the future of Chilsimni,” commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Seogwipo Chilsimni Festival, followed by a special performance by the pop group Koyote.

This year, the festival grounds have been expanded to more than twice the size of last year’s, offering a wide range of interactive programs along with the “Chilsimni Market” and “Chil-Flea Market.” These markets, held in collaboration with local businesses, will provide visitors with an even richer variety of food and entertainment.
