The latest additions to Jeju’s café scene bring plenty of style and uniqueness. Though Vinyl Jeju isn’t the first vinyl café in Jeju, this spot in Hallim-eup, Jeju-si, takes it to the next level with individual turntables and headsets at each seat. Typically, vinyl cafés and bars in Korea have a DJ playing customer requests. But at Vinyl Jeju, you can enjoy your own personal music experience – just you, the music, and the seas of Jeju - by simplying paying an entrance fee. 

Vinyl Jeju’s fame is relatively new, but its unique concept has made it popular even before it opened. Each ticket includes one free drink and priced at KRW 18,500 per person, offering unlimited access to the record collection. You simply need to choose your beverage. If the café is full, your visit is limited to two hours, but if not, you can stay until closing. 

You can park your vehicle in front of the café. Once inside, you’ll find a great collection of records, ranging from pop to jazz and K-Pop. The collection even includes the latest chart hits. First, choose your record, then take it to your preferred table and enjoy. The café has two stories, and the second floor offers records not found on the first floor, so exploring the café is recommended. You can take up to 3 records to your turntable at a time. If you want to listen to more, simply return the ones you’ve played. There’s a variety of seating arrangements - from group seating to bar seats, floor seating, spots for couples, and solo seats - so you won’t have trouble finding your preferred seat. Even if you are alone, finding a seat is easy. For a view of the sea, to head to the second floor. 

Put on your headset, drop the needle, and let everything else fade away. Focus on the melody and let it take your body and mind to a place of happiness. 

Listening to vinyl records evokes a sense of nostalgia, even if you didn’t grow up with them. After all, this old-fashioned, analog sound is hard to come by these days. If it’s your first time, no need to worry - each turntable comes with detailed instructions on how to use it. The instructions show you how to play a record, switch between tracks, and pause. And if you are still unsure, just ask the staff for help.
