For fans of diving and snorkeling, both activities often take up the lion’s share of one’s travel.

As expected of an island, Jeju has many spots for diving and snorkeling, and one of them is Sinchon Port in Jocheon-eup, Jeju.

Sinchon Port is divided into the inner and the outer port. The inner port area has a sea spring called “Keunmul” by the locals.

Sinchon Port has been known for some time, so it often attracts a large crowd.

A unique feature of Sinchon Port is that it has two sides, one that preserves the old ambience and the other that is newly built.

The former, the inner port, is unique in that it is built out of basalt.

The outer port is quite similar to other ports found in Korea.

When you first arrive at Sinchon Port for the first time, you have to resist jumping in right away because the water is so clear.

If you time your arrival right, you can find a rather calm sea, perfect for diving in.

Sinchon Port does not have any showers or places to rent equipment, such as snorkeling gear.

You have to take your own equipment and find a way to get back to your accommodation to shower.

Alternatively, you can take a bath in the sea spring, which is divided into men’s and women’s baths.

Even from outside the water, you can see fish swimming in the sea.

Once inside, you’re sure to see more fish up close.

Many visitors have reported seeing dolphins at Sinchon Port.

What a chance to see a dolphin in a port!

If you are lucky, you might even see a dozen dolphins.

Sinchon Port is also a fishing spot.

In fact, even before it became famous as a snorkeling or diving spot, Sinchon Port was already a popular fishing spot.

The best fishing spot at Sinchon Port is the spot across the red lighthouse.

Note that the breakwater there is not accessible by car, so you have to walk a bit.

If you can use Korean search engines, you can look up fishing spots at Sinchon Port and the fish that you can catch at those spots.

Since Sinchon Port is a part of the Olle Trail system, it is a great place to take a walk in.

As you walk along the port, you will be able to see the different scenes that the port has to offer, starting with its striking red lighthouse.

If you don’t want to head back right away after seeing the port, you can visit the nearby Dangmeoreu Coastal Trail, which has become quite popular in recent years, or Yeonbukjeong Pavilion.

From Dangmeoru, you can even see the Sinchon Port.

Whatever you do, we hope that you will have a fun day enjoying the sights and activities to be found at Sinchon Port.
