VISIT JEJU

There is a great place to take a rest right next to the tourist information center in Daepo Jusangjeolli.

Here, local people come and take a walk, and more people are coming because it is part of the road that leads to the Olle 8 Course. There is no name for this beach, but because it is filled with mongdol, it is called "Mongdol Beach".

The beach has a lot of mongdol, meaning small round rocks, and the wave coming and going makes a bright and clear sound as it hits the rocks. At the end of Mongdol Beach, there is a small Jusangjeolli, connected to Daepo Jusangjeolli, standing tall and grand. It is a photo spot recommended to those who want to take pictures with Jusangjeolli close to them. However, you need to be careful because it is filled with small and big mongdols.

Some make a rock tower with mongdols to make a wish. It is a small beach, yet it will definitely provide you with lots of memorable moments with shimmering mongdols touched by waves, Haeneyo Halmangs preparing seafood, etc.

Let’s go to see the unique scenery in Jeju with vivid colors that bring Central and South America to mind. "Buyoung Hotel" is a place featuring architectural aesthetics in harmony with nature.

It has the last touch of world-renowned Mexican architect "Ricardo Legorreta". Ricardo Legorreta, who was focusing on traditional architecture, fell in love with Jeju after having a crush on Jeju’s thatched houses. So, he built "Casa del Agua 

(The House of Water)," the model house that has both traditional methods and natural elements in the architecture, as his posthumous work.

Unfortunately, we cannot see it anymore as the building was demolished. Instead, we can go and see "Buyoung Hotel", built on his design, which infused the Carribean sentiment into Jeju’s topography. Its vivid brick-red exterior and sky-high palm trees create an exotic mood. Especially, the direction of its shadow changing every second as the sun moves makes the building more unique and outstanding. Using this feature, you can take pictures that capture the aesthetics of the architecture.
