The term sumbisori refers to the sound that Haenyeos produce when they exhale after swimming in deep water. An important meaning for the name Sumbisori Trail is that it represents the melting away of the hardships the Haenyeos endured through out their lives.
- Let's follow the trail left by the beautiful women together.

In addition to Batdam trail, you can also enjoy a peaceful and tranquil stroll along the path connected by interlocking basalt. Taking a slow walk will lead you to a stunning view of the sea Byeolbangjin.  
- Byeolbangjin offers a panoramic view of the blue sea, and you can capture wonderful images of your life while standing on top of it.

Jeju Haenyeos work in the water and land together, however, it is said that they carried firewood on their way to the water. The Haenyeos used to burn firewood on the bulteok, and it is said they would sit around the area to warm themselves up or grill their catch.

- Once you have passed the Haenyeo dressing room, you will reach the end of the road where you can see Gaetgeul Halmangdang (Halmangdang Shrine), where Haenyeos and fishermen prayed for safety and abundance in their work.

We are pleased to introduce the Mackerel photo studio where you are able to take some unique concept photos while wearing the old water clothes of Haenyeos. Located near Jeju International Airport, the Mackerel photo studio was created by its owner, who loves Mackerels. There is a retro and hip feel to it from the colorful exterior to the pump machine inside.

The costumes prepared for the Haenyeo concept shoot are available in various sizes, so that both children and adults may wear them. Furthermore, there are various accessories such as rubber shoes, sunglasses, goggles, orange balls are flotation devices, and mackerel dolls in 20 different shapes.

During your Jeju trip, if you enjoyed a delicious meal and took photos in a beautiful place and then spent time healing at a cafe with an Instagram-friendly vibe, snap a photo of a unique Haenyeo concept. Similar photos of Jeju travel will not be able to replicate this memory.

Jeju Haenyeo Museum is a special place that depicts the lives and the cultures of Haenyeo and is designed to enhance the understanding of Haenyeo. As a result of their pioneering spirit and vitality, the Jeju Haenyeo played a key role in Jeju's economy. The museum consists of three exhibition rooms, a video room, an observatory, and a children's experience center depicting the daily lives of Jeju Haenyeos.

First, you can see the everyday life of a Haenyeo in the first exhibition room. Other themes include fishing villages, shamanism, seasonal customs, and livelihoods of fishing villages. Under the theme of the Haenyeo's workplace, the second exhibition room exhibits the fishing gear and old water clothes of Haenyeos. There is a third exhibition room that was designed to promote an understanding of fishing villages and fishing culture through the theme of ancient fishing activities and the sea, such as the sea of hope.

As impossible as it may be to count all the hardships endured by Jeju Haenyeo's, there is a good opportunity to take a look at the exhibition halls and hear various stories about food culture and religious practices. Regarding Jeju Haenyeos, if the only thing that comes to mind are black wetsuits and orange flotation devices carrying a bunch of seafood, we recommend that you visit the Jeju Haenyeo Museum and hear their vivid tales.
