The Jeju Olle walking trail system first opened in 2007 and has now expanded to 26 routes that circle Jeju Province and cover many of its outlying islands, like Udo, Gapado, and Chujado Island. It passes through 135 villages and over 130 famous tourist destinations.

Visitors from mainland Korea and overseas are encouraged to embrace a slow, healing, eco-friendly journey. The foundation manages various campaigns to keep its trails and the local environment clean and healthy.

According to the Jeju Olle Foundation, a recent study of 10 nations by the World Trails Network found that the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns had increased local trail use by families and younger people by 200% to 500%, particularly in North America.

Active Traveller, a UK-based publication, regularly features articles on walking tours, hiking, kayaking and sailing. It ranks global destinations by outdoor activity, such as “top 10 best walking holidays in Europe,” “top 10 long distance cycle routes,” and “10 of the most spectacular hiking landscapes in the world.”
