Korean Foods to Warm You Up This Winter
๋ณ์ (๋ณ์ ์์)
Korean food might be famous around the world for its spiciness, but that is not the case with Jeju cuisine. Jeju people don't use that much of red chilli pepper. They prefer marinated soy bean paste as a base (dwenjang) for some dishes that traditionally in the mainland are made by using red chilli pepper paste. Uniqueness formed by the islanders lifestyle and isolation from the mainland offer a different approach to Korean food. Distinct features are definitely an amount of seafood included and the freshness of the products. Everything here on the table is either straight from the fields or straight from the ocean.

When you crave to try the real Korean food it is not a specific kind of dish that you have to try. Korean cuisine is famous for dozens of little plates of side dishes called panchan, and if you just order jeongsik you will get to try a little bit of everything. Jeongsik usually consist of two main meal dishes, one with meat and another one is a local fried fish, a bowl of soup, a variety of vegetables, pickles and a bowl of rice. The refill of the side dishes is infinite so after the meal you will definitely feel very full.

Abalones is considered to be one of the healthiest seafood, especially good for women. Jeju women divers have harvested the sea for many years and abalone catch is still the best loot you can get. On the other hand, seolleongtang is a broth made from cooking beef bones for a very long time. It is also regarded as a very healthy food often recommended as an easy to digest food and energizing when you are sick.
Ogane Abalone Seolleongtang restaurant offers a fusion of these two very healthy dishes. This menu is also very suitable for people with stomach problems, kids and old people, because there are no strong spices like red chili peppers involved as most of other traditional Korean dishes would have. Even though it is considered to be a very healthy food it is still very delicious.
