A Walk in a Jeju Village: Fall in Hangyeong-myeon (Part 2)
Previously in 〈A Walk in a Jeju Village, Fall in Hangyeong-myeon! (Part 1)>, if you walked through the forests and oreum volcanic cones and felt the calm autumn season while drinking refreshing tea, (Part 2) will guide you to places that will fatten your body and mind. Small bookstores and book cafés that are perfect for the reading season and bakeries that are pleasant just to see their deliciously baked looks are the next destinations. Regardless of which region you introduce, bookstores and bakeries cannot be left out, as a book you find on a trip may change the direction of your life, and a piece of delicious bread you accidentally tasted may become the reason for your next trip. In fact, even without attaching such a grand reason, wouldn't it be clear that existence itself is a place of happiness? Especially in autumn, like these days, it will be more so.

Where did Jeju Island’s tangerines come from?
On Jeju Island, tangerines and Mandarin oranges (called mangam in Korean) emerge each month in slightly different flavors and shapes. The best native varieties are selected and then crossbred with one another to create a higher-quality strain—this never-ending cycle of crossbreeding and improvement produces dozens of types of tangerines. Tangerines are believed to have arrived in Jeju Island during the Three Kingdoms Period. Indeed, the tangerines that we enjoy today may very well be the result of many different flavors and textures that have been cultivated and crossbred for centuries. Jeju tangerines are the embodiment of the island’s centuries of history as well as its unlimited potential.
