Jeju Waterworld, the largest water leisure park in Jeju, is designed to be a world of water unlike anything seen before. Located in a former sauna around the Jeju World Cup Stadium in Seogwipo, it has been transformed into a chic and charming space. While the theme revolves around water, the park also features a captivating collection of media art,  making it an appealing destination for everyone.

It opened in mid-July, making it a relatively new addition. As the first theme park in Jeju centered around the theme of water, it has attracted large crowds. Many visitors initially came to Waterworld to escape the heat, only to be captivated by its impressive media art displays. If you’re using a navigation app, search for Jeju World Cup Stadium, specifically the West Gate.

Jeju Waterworld is the fourth space created by dotmill, a leading enterprise specializing in immersive media, and stands as one of the largest immersive thematic spaces in Korea. Reimagined through dotmill’s creative lens, this waterpark offers an experience unlike any other. It showcases mysterious waters not easily found in real life, brought to life through media art, inviting you to explore barefoot along flowing streams.

Jeju Waterworld features 15 experience spaces, allowing you to easily spend an entire day exploring. The building spans 7,273m2 across two floors, so it’s a good idea to consult the map before entering. Upon entry, you’ll receive a towel and a pair of aqua socks. Since the park is themed around water, and you’ll be following the flowing streams between experience areas, these items may come in handy. If you find the aqua socks uncomfortable, you can explore barefoot as well. It’s also recommended to wear shorts, as your legs might get splashed with water.

The pools at Waterworld are about 20cm deep and kept at a lukewarm temperature, making them perfect for wading in regardless of the weather. A 200m-long pool with flowing water winds through the interior spaces, surrounding large media art installations and sculptures. Here, the fusion of water and creativity results in an astonishing variety of sights. Words can’t fully capture the experience – it’s something you have to see for yourself to truly appreciate the splendor of Waterworld.

In one section, water rains down on you. You can either put on a raincoat to pass through or simply just walk through it. If you’d prefer to stay dry, you can easily walk around this area. Please note that playing with water or swimming are prohibited in Waterworld.

After the exhibition, be sure to visit the café and souvenir shop. The seating is arranged within water pools reminiscent of those found in traditional Korean public baths, creating a uniquely impressive atmosphere.

Entrance fees are categorized for adults, teenagers, and children. Jeju residents receive a KRW 3,000 discount. You can also get a 20% discount by following the Instagram account of Jeju Waterworld if you’re making a return visit within 3 months of your first visit. These discounts are available until further notice.

On hot days, head to Jeju Waterworld to cool down and experience the mysteries of media and immersive art.
