Gwangpyeong-ri, Andeok-myeon, is a middle mountainous village located on an area starting at 500m above sea level. According to 'Headline Jeju' in 2020, Jeju is the largest buckwheat producer in Korea, accounting for about 43% of the nation's production, and more than 23% of buckwheat is grown in Gwangpyeong-ri and the middle mountainous areas around Gwangpyeong-ri. "Hallasan a rae cheot maeul Agricultural Cooperative Corporation" was established in 2015 and the village revitalization project with Jeju buckwheat was started. It sells 100% Jeju buckwheat naengmyeon grown by the villagers and processed in the factory in the village. To provide the taste of Jeju, it developed bibijakjakmyeon other than mulnaengmyeon and bibim-naengmyeon. Considering the gluten-free and non-sticky characteristics of buckwheat, the food is prepared by grinding and kneading buckwheat right after receiving an order without additional aging. You may purchase buckwheat rice and buckwheat flour online and offline. You may cook the rice just as mixing grains. With flour, you may enjoy it by putting into seaweed soup as well as making Korean-style pancakes.
