Haenyeo's kitchen was selected as the 2022 Jeju Unique Themed Travel Experience by Jeju Tourism Organization.
Bukchon-ri, located in the east of Jeju, is the background of Kiyoung Hyeon's novel "Uncle of Soonee" and is a stylish place with unique unpolished beauty and quietness. Based on the mood, Haenyeo's kitchen, which paid attention to seafood collected from the neighboring island Daryo-do, opened its second store at Bukchon in November 2021 following the main store at Jongdal-ri. Going beyond the main concept of live performances, the theme of this store is media art. When you enter the restaurant, the docent may guide you and wake your dull sense by telling the story about the town, sea, haenyeo, and seafood in the dim room. It is a fine dining restaurant aiming at high-quality seafood, such as murex shellfish, sea urchin, and octopus vulgaris, collected by experienced haenyeo and completed in a triangular formation of a space that is the sea and fishing village, a figure (haenyeo), and an item (seafood).
