Jeju’s only underground shopping center, a major hub for shopping on the island
The Central Underground Shopping Mall is the only underground mall in Jeju, conveniently located 5–10 minutes by car from Jeju International Airport and Jeju International Passenger Terminal. The mall was completed in 1983 and has remained open ever since. It spans approximately 3,000 pyeong (about 9,900 m²) and is home to over 300 stores offering goods in more than 20 categories, including clothing, accessories, cosmetics, shoes, and snacks (as of August 7, 2025).
There are 12 numbered entrances, starting with the Dongmun Traditional Market entrance as number 1 and going up to the Gwandeokjeong Pavilion entrance as number 12. A number of cafés, fast-food outlets, and restaurants are part of the mall, allowing you to grab a quick bite to eat as you shop. The Central Underground Shopping Mall is also located close to a number of tourist attractions, including Gwandeokjeong Pavilion, Yongduam Rock, and Samseonghyeol Shrine. The mall has a number of convenient facilities catering to visitors, such as tourist information kiosks, rest areas, nursing rooms, and stroller and wheelchair rentals.
