Polgae Cooperative Alliance was created by people who wished to return to Jeju Island to farm. A good example: the Polgae Cooperative is where blueberries, which are rare in Jeju, are grown using organic methods.

“Polgae” is the old name for Taeheung Village and means mud flat. Namwon, the southern town where Polgae is located, is blessed with fertile soil and thus is famous—even in Jeju itself—for its delicious mandarins and agricultural products.

The warm climate in Namwon, too, makes it a perfect place for growing blueberries and citrus. During the spring blueberry harvest, you can enjoy picking the fruit for yourself, while in winter, instead of blueberries, you can pick sweet mandarins, which are the representative agricultural product of Namwon.

Of note for families and foodies is a blueberry extract and blueberry cake making experience program that uses organic blueberries. The finished blueberry extract can be enjoyed as a drink by making hot tea or cool ade, and you can enjoy the aroma and sweet taste of blueberries by even spreading it on toast. Blueberry cake making is also a favorite with children. Cut the cake in half and top it with whipped cream. Add as many blueberries as you like, cover the cake, apply fresh cream again, and decorate with mandarin slices, herbs, and blueberries. You can have a sense of pride in your cake!

In addition, handicraft experience programs include doll and dream catcher making, macrame, and more!

※ The above program may change without notice, so please inquire in advance prior to visiting.
