Sinchang Windmill Coastal Road stretches along the western edge of Jeju Island, with the windmills from a nearby offshore wind farm standing off the coast. The white windmills contrast with the emerald waters to create an eye-catching and captivating vista as the trail winds along the looping coastline, with Chagwido Island visible in the distance. A variety of interesting sights unfurl above the azure waves. Sinchang Coastal Road is especially famous for its beautiful sunsets, making it a great spot for viewing and taking photos. Further along the coast lies a walking trail called the Ecological Experience Center, which includes a freshwater swamp, a wetland experience center, and resting spaces, providing great opportunities to take interesting photos against a variety of different backdrops. Midway through the trail lies a quiet and serene lookout point, a great place to head to after some nice walking and photography.

Though most famous for its sunset views, the merry spinning of the windmills off the coast combined with the blue sea also make it a popular coastal summer driving route. The sight of the white turbines spinning beneath the clear blue sky has an intensely calming effect. The road has a drastically different vibe between low tide and high tide, adding another layer of charm and revealing new vistas based on the timing of a visit. The moss-covered rocks visible at low tide carry a mysterious allure, while at high tide, the water level rises right up to the base of the turbines, causing sea and sky to merge in a stunning spectacle of blue. Water may overflow onto the path during high tide, so please exercise caution.
Another big selling point for this road is the large number of nearby attractions. Popular spots such as Wollyeong-ri Cactus Village, Panpo Port, the weather station at Suwolbong Peak, and Eongal Coast are all within a 10 to 15 minute drive, so we recommend planning out an itinerary to visit as many as possible.
