We introduce you to the Hyoeun Dessert Sanbangsan Branch, located near Sanbangsan Mountain. Hyoeun Dessert is known for its handmade hallabong yanggaeng (hallabong-shaped jelly confection), sold only 200 pieces each day. It offers cooking classes, which are headed by CEO Choi Hyo-eun, the developer of the first hallabong yanggaeng and a gold prize winner in the 2023 Small Business & Master Chef Cooking Contest, and master chef Bok Su-hee, who has master chef qualifications in Korean, Chinese, and Japanese cuisine. Considering the accolades won by the lecturers, you can’t help but feel excited about the class.
They usually held local food classes using Udo peanuts and Jeju tangerines. Specifically, the delicious desserts using Jeju specialties in the classes include Udo peanut dark chocolate, Udo peanut Basque cheesecake, pan-fried sweet rice cakes (juak), and honey cookies (yakgwa) using Jeju tangerines. The classes are small-scale, and you can sign up with the @jejuchoga2024 Instagram page.
These delicious desserts can also be purchased through the Naver Smart Store or the Jeju Chogajip (@jejuchoga2024) restaurant. There, you can find delectable desserts using Jeju ingredients, such as hallabong yanggaeng and hallabong oranda, made with Jeju hallabong and rice malt syrup, so if you are interested, you can also visit Jeju Chogajip to pick them up.
