Heukdonga offers easy access, as it is located near the airport and occupies a whole separate building with a large parking lot. The wide restaurant is also suitable for family meetings and social gatherings. The restaurant’s main branch in Nohyeong-dong serves so-called “Jeju thick pork,” which is pork sliced much thicker than that of other regions. They have combined the method of grilling black pork — an ingredient welcomed as a healthy food for its low cholesterol and rich fatty acid — over charcoal and Jeju’s way of eating by dipping the meat in fermented anchovy sauce. Their charcoal-grilled pork is suitably fat and sweet-smelling as the meat loses some of its oil and absorbs the smoky charcoal scent. The pork goes well with the fermented anchovy sauce, which was boiled before, or a pickled perilla leaf.
